The Devils Head Ski Team by GS Alpine Development is one of the Midwest’s newest premier Alpine Ski Racing Programs based out of Madison Wisconsin. Our development team draws athletes from all over Dane County and the surrounding areas.  


Our History:

  • GS Alpine Development at Devils Head offers ski racing programs for many athletes from age 5 to 80 annually
  • The team benefits from the tireless efforts of its volunteer base and enjoys support from the generous corporate community
  • GS Alpine Development has been offering ski racing programs for kids and adults for over 37 years
  • GS Alpine Development has pursued a culture of excellence and a long history of achievement dating back to 1984
  • Many of our former racers in the past have been involved as coaches and parents
  • Although GS Alpine Development has grown over the decades and the name has changed, it continues to provide a high level of technical ski instruction and enriched social experience for all members throughout our Midwest Winters


Our goals:

  • Foster a lifelong obsession for skiing and ski racing
  • Challenge athletes to reach their ski racing goals and dreams
  • Work with each athlete individually to develop a program that aligns with his or her goals
  • Provide a range of programs from introductory to elite to meet the various needs of athletes
  • Strive to create a learning atmosphere of continuous improvement at all levels
  • Create and maintain a challenging, positive, healthy environment for everyone involved with GS Alpine
  • Offer opportunities to participate in division racing and post‐season competitions against other Regions Divisions and Teams across the nation
  • Host three competitive races during the race season year  


GS Alpine Development Coaches are certified members of US SKI –United States Ski & Snowboard Association. US SKI is a national ski racing organization which splits the country into geographic sections. We train members of US SKI, WIJARA, WJR along with High School Athletes.

Steps to join and pay:

  • Have your NASTAR Registration Number on-hand. We ask for this during our signup process.
  • If you have a registration number, go to the next bullet. If not, follow these steps to create 1) click on the NASTAR logo in our header 2) When you land on the NASTAR site, click REGISTER in the header 3) Follow the process 4) when you get to 'Create or Join a Team', choose 'GS Ski Tunes at Devil's Head Resort' from the dropdown under the Resort Team section.
  • Click the 'Membership' tab in the header to join.
  • Select your membership type and complete the online process to pay for your league membership.

 Devil's Head Resort is a full-service ski resort nestled in the heart of glacier-formed bluffs located in South Central Wisconsin. The terrain is exceptional and allows us to create the best race lanes in the mid-west that are long, challenging and fun! DHST races and trains on Serpent.
